I am doing a lot of low voltage electronic projects and need more than just the 5VDC that USB supplies. I picked this up so I could add power for motor projects among others. This is a very nice unit for me. It is silent, (at least in my use) has memory presets for 4 voltage settings and also provides that 5VDC USB power that I mentioned earlier. For a wide variety of projects I do this is a good unit. I hooked it up to a Multimeter to compare the voltages it said it was providing against what I could verify. The numbers were all rock solid. The unit is digital and if you need to dial in 5.18 VDC instead of just 5VDC you can.There are additional ports on the back of the unit, but their use is not explained in any detail. Most likely someone with more experience, or the internet, could explain their purpose.On the whole, I am very happy with the unit.
